As we look ahead, we're so very grateful for what this community has helped us build—and excited for what comes next.

Since we began this Collective, we've generated more than $100,000 in sales for local artists, and we've shared the work of more than 100 artists with our community and visitors, as well as hosting spoken word and open mic events and writing workshops. What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a vibrant gathering place where talent, tradition, creativity, and community meet. And now, we have an extraordinary opportunity to build on that momentum.

Our New Fundraising Goal: $400,000

This year, we plan to raise $400,000 to help secure the future of this creative community and support the purchase of our building.

​

We are incredibly grateful to share that we have recently received a donor-advised grant from the Maine Community Foundation for $500. And now we have three amazing anonymous commitments:

​

• $2,500 per year for four years, with matching funds required

• $50,000 toward the purchase of the building

• $100,000 toward the purchase of the building

 

These extraordinary grants and gifts reflect the deep belief Downeast communities have in local artists, creative entrepreneurship, and the vital importance of sustaining spaces like this for generations to come.

But we still need YOUR help.

Looking Ahead

We had a wonderful season at the Schooner Gallery, and while the gift shop is closed for 2026, the space will remain a place for workshops, classes, creative gatherings, and community connection.

​

Meanwhile, our Cherryfield location above the Paisley Loon will remain open, continuing to provide a place to discover and support the incredible work of local artists.

​

As a grassroots nonprofit, your contribution goes directly toward sustaining this vibrant artistic community — fostering economic, professional, and creative opportunities for local artists while celebrating the richness of life in coastal Maine.
